MEMORANDUM.

His Britannic Majesty's Consul-General presents his complie-

-ments to the Tu Tu and regrets again to have to invite his

attention to articles which have appeared in the "Chung Kuo Jih Pao* (of the 18th. and 21st. instant) on the subject of the tramway boycott in Hongkong.

His Excellency the Governor of Hongkong complains with

reason that such articles are obviously calculated to invite the

inhabitants of Hongkong to break the law of the Colony and His

Majesty's Consul-General, hopes, therefore, that the Tutu will be

able to see his way to procure the cessation of such mischievous

publications.
